There’s something special about classic cars, the way they sound, the way they feel, and the stories they carry. Around here, that appreciation isn’t just a job, it’s a lifestyle. My husband (the owner and lead technician) pours his heart into these machines every day, and I’ve been right there with him—helping keep the wheels turning not just in the shop, but in the day-to-day operations that keep Acclaim Car and Truck Repair running smoothly.
And lately, we’ve seen some exciting shifts—not just in what we’re doing in the shop, but in the classic car world, as a whole.
A Subtle Shift Toward Practical Upgrades
More and more, classic car owners are asking about upgrades that make their rides more enjoyable without losing that vintage soul. Things like electronic ignition systems, fuel injection, aftermarket air conditioning, and now even bigger or more efficient radiators paired with electric fans are becoming the new norm.
These aren’t about changing what makes a car a classic, they’re about keeping it on the road longer, making it easier to start, smoother to drive, and way more comfortable in the heat (which, let’s be honest, we know a thing or two about here in Arizona). We’ve embraced these changes wholeheartedly. We understand the value of keeping things original, but we also know that thoughtful upgrades can help these cars be driven and enjoyed more often—and that’s what it’s all about.
Investing in Our Future
As we continue to grow, the demand for our services has been steady—and strong. And we’re excited to introduce the newest member of our team: Chad.
Chad’s been around cars for a while, and he brings a solid base of experience to the table. What really stood out to us is his eagerness to learn and grow, especially when it comes to classic vehicles. He’s jumping in with both feet, working alongside Rich, our founder and lead general repair tech, and Dave, our owner and lead fabricator.
Rich, as many of you know, plans to step back at the beginning of next year. So, the time to pass on his decades of knowledge is now—and Chad is soaking it up. We’re thrilled to see someone so motivated join the team at such a pivotal moment.
As someone who manages the structure and flow of the shop, I can say this next chapter is one we’ve been planning carefully. We’re not just hiring—we’re building something that lasts.
Building Something That Lasts
We care deeply about what we’re building here, not just a business, but a community. We love what we do, and we want to keep doing it well for years to come. That means staying current with technology, expanding the team thoughtfully, and making sure every car that rolls out of our bay is something we’re proud to put our name on.
Thanks for being part of this journey with us. Whether you’re a longtime customer, a classic car enthusiast, or just someone who appreciates craftsmanship done right—we’re grateful for your support.
We’re here for your upgrades, your questions, your dream builds, and everything in between.
See you in the shop.
