Ken’s New Role and Springtime at Acclaim Car and Truck Repair

This spring feels more like an early summer, and things are heating up fast here at Acclaim Car and Truck Repair. Classic car owners are pulling their vehicles out of storage and bringing them in for that much-needed attention before the real desert heat sets in. We’re seeing a rise in transmission work, drivetrain restorations, and general maintenance jobs—all signs that the season is in full swing. Our advice? Get your classic car tuned up and ready now so you can enjoy the great weather while it lasts. Once summer hits full force, drive time will be limited for these beauties.

With this increase in activity, we also have some important updates regarding one of our esteemed team members, Ken Tully. Ken has been an integral part of Acclaim Car and Truck Repair, bringing years of expertise as a Master Transmission Tech. However, as life brings new priorities, Ken has decided to adjust his time in the shop to focus on what matters most—his wife’s health and his own well-being.

Effective immediately, Ken will be working with us on an as-needed basis. While he may not be in the shop every day, he remains a valuable member of our team and will continue lending his expertise when transmission jobs come in. His dedication to quality workmanship and his deep knowledge of classic car transmissions have been invaluable to Acclaim, and we are grateful that he will still be a part of our family, even in a reduced capacity.

As we dive into this busy season, we appreciate Ken’s contributions and the strong foundation he has helped build. The rest of our team is working hard to ensure that every classic car that comes through our doors receives the same high-quality service our customers have come to expect. Since this spring already feels like summer, now is the perfect time to get ahead of the heat. Whether it's a transmission rebuild, a drivetrain restoration, or a simple tune-up, we’re here to keep your classic car running smoothly.

Another key change happening at Acclaim is Dave stepping further into the ownership role. As the shop continues to grow and evolve, Dave is taking on even more responsibilities to ensure our team runs smoothly and our customers receive the best service possible. His leadership and dedication to the craft have helped shape Acclaim into the trusted name it is today, and he’s fully committed to carrying that legacy forward. His hands-on approach, combined with his years of experience, will continue to drive Acclaim’s success and keep us at the forefront of classic car repair.

We fully support Ken in his decision and appreciate everything he has done—and will continue to do—for the shop. If you happen to see him when he’s in, be sure to say hello and let him know how much he is appreciated.

Thank you, Ken, for your years of commitment and craftsmanship. We look forward to seeing you when you’re here and wish you and your wife all the best!

As for the rest of our customers, if you’re ready to get your classic car in peak condition for the months ahead, don’t hesitate to reach out. This spring is rolling in like summer, so take advantage of the good weather while you can. It’s time to hit the road in style!

A Note From Ken:

"Well, folks, it looks like I’m officially not the everyday fixture in the shop any more—so you’ll all have to get used to seeing a little less of this charming mug. The time’s come for me to take a step back and take care of a few things more important than greasy bolts and busted bell housings—namely, my wife’s health and, well, making sure I’m still kicking around long enough to yell at Dave when needed.

I’m not disappearing entirely. I’ll still be around when the transmissions come calling—just don’t expect me to be elbow-deep in gear oil every morning. I’m incredibly grateful for the support from all of you—customers, coworkers, and especially Dave, who’s been handling this change with less grumbling than I expected. I’ve spent a lot of years under hoods, and I’ve enjoyed most of it (don’t tell anyone I said that).

I also want to give a sincere thanks to both Dave and Michelle for stepping up and taking the wheel—literally and figuratively. Watching them push Acclaim into a new era has been something else, and I couldn’t be prouder (even if I act like a grump about it). They’ve got the heart, the brains, and the drive to keep this place running strong. Truth is, they’re the only two people I’d ever trust to grow this legacy I’ve poured myself into. If I had to hand over my baby, I wouldn’t give the keys to anyone else.

Thanks for the laughs, the loyalty, and letting me do what I do best. I’ll be around when it counts."
